What We Do

Pediatric Care

We Care For Children Like They’re Our Own.

New Horizons has been serving families of medically-fragile children for over 30 years. In addition to caring for the medical needs of adults and seniors, we also provide tailored care for medically fragile children and kids facing chronic illnesses. We treat every child in our care as we would treat our own: with excellent care and constant kindness.

Parents trust New Horizons to care for their children—including those with the most demanding needs.

We take care of the special needs of kids and their families.

Our pediatric caregivers are trained to address the specific needs of children and their families. All of our pediatric care providers are CPR certified. We match your child and family with dedicated caregivers who fit with the entire family. The care of a child is a precious responsibility—one we take on with great humility and honor.

We work with families to develop care plans that meet the needs of the child and the household, be it round-the-clock care, monitoring vital signs, help with skilled medical care, managing equipment, helping with general education, or administering prescribed therapies. If your child is of school age and has medical needs, we are sometimes able to secure a contract with your local school district to provide care for your child during the school year.

We strive to create as much normalcy as possible for the entire family. We want the child, parents, and siblings to have as much peace as possible and to be able to enjoy each other. We’re there to support you every step of the way.

New Horizons found the right person for us. They check in regularly, and I like the fact that they have provided the kind of assistance that we needed. The caregiver we have is excellent.

When skilled care is needed, our LPNs and registered nurses, specializing in pediatric care, provide it. The care we can offer covers a wide range of needs, including:

  • Plan of care implementation
  • Medication administration and reconciliation, and reports to doctors or pharmacists
  • Temperature, respiration, and vital signs monitoring
  • Enteral feeding/tube feeding
  • Ventilator care
  • Incontinence care
  • Tracheotomy care
  • Chronic illness care and therapies
  • Administering prescribed therapies
  • Coordinate home medical equipment
  • Training and education

As with all the care we give, every step is designed around the child’s needs at every level: medical needs, social needs, educational needs. We never forget they’re a kid and cherish them as we cherish our own.
